Q: How do I create a new page?
In the left hand column of Site Manager, navigate to the area where you want your new page to appear. At the bottom of the left column type the title of your new page in the 'Name(s)' box and select the template you wish to use from the drop down list. Descriptions of the available templates should appear in the yellow box when a template is selected, along with a link to an existing page using that template to see it in use. Click 'Create' or 'Create and edit' if you want to edit the page straight away.
You can create several pages at once by typing all the page titles into the 'Name(s)' box, pressing enter after each title to move onto the next line. All pages created together will use the same template.
Q: How do I rename pages?
In the left column, right click on the name of the page you wish to edit and select 'rename' from the menu that appears. You can then enter the new page title in the upper box. Some websites have the 'short name' function in place, this name can be altered in the lower box, however if this box is left empty the upper name will be used.
Q: I've renamed a page but it keeps resetting itself.
If you have the page open in the page editor before renaming it, it remembers the original name of the page and this name will be kept if the page is then saved. To avoid this, re-open the page for editing as soon as you have renamed it and the new name will then be saved.
Q: How do I delete pages?
In the left column, right click on the name of the page you wish to edit and select 'delete' from the menu that appears. To delete the page from the public site as well as the private site make sure the top box is ticked. If the bottom box is ticked all pages inside your selected page will be deleted but your selected page will remain on the site.
Q: How do I reorder pages?
In the left column, right click on the name of the page you wish to move and select 'move up' or 'move down' from the menu that appears. Repeat this until the page is in the correct place. You will then need to re-publish all pages in this section (not including sub-pages) for the re-ordering to take effect on the public site.
If you find that the page you are trying to move doesn't change position you can manually re-order the pages by changing the 'sort code'. Right click on the page name and select 'properties'. In the settings that appear click on the 'Advanced' tab and towards the bottom there is an option labelled 'sortcode'. This number determines the order the pages appear in (the lowest number appears at the top, the highest at the bottom). Change the number, click OK and publish the page. Repeat this for all pages you want to rearrange.
Q: How do I move pages?
To move a page outside of the section it is currently in, right click on the name of the page you wish to move and select 'cut' from the menu that appears. Navigate to the new destination of the page, right click on another page in this section and select 'paste' - you may have to use the move up/down function to get it in the required position. You will need to publish the page for it's new position to show in the live site.
If there aren't any other pages already in the destination section you will have to create a new, temporary page here using the 'new page' box at the bottom. When you have done this right click on the new page, select paste to insert the original page, and then delete the temporary page. The original page will need re-publishing to make the move appear on the public site.
Q: How do I change the template of a page?
In the left column, right click on the name of the page you wish to change and select 'properties' from the menu that appears. Near the top of the properties box that appears there is a drop down menu labelled 'template'. Select your new template from this list and click 'OK'. If you already had the page open in the page editor you will need to re-open it by clicking on the 'edit' link for the change to take place.
