Are you fed up with getting loads of spam email?, do you use a catch-all email address?
What is a catch all I here you say?
The definition of Catch-all email is...
An email account that allows all emails with your domain name to be forwarded to a single email address.
For Example:
- one@ you.com
- infor@ you.com
- two@ you.com
- all@ you.com
Basically a catch-all email allows any name @yourdomain.com come through to your account.
This might sound like the perfect solution to prevent any incorrectly addressed emails getting lost. However what often happens is that a virus like espam harvests your domain address and starts to spam you with your own address, and if thats not bad enough they can start spaming your clients with your domain address, eventually your domain could become blacklisted preventing you emailing your clients.
How do you stop this I here you cry.
- Telephone or email your hosting company and ask for them to disable your catch-all email.
- Some companies may charge an administration fee for this service.
