Almost a decade ago standards were introduced by the Web Standards Project for creating websites that would work across a broad spectrum of browsers. Not only did this make websites more usable and accessible for the end user, it also meant creating them would be easier and faster and the savings could be passed on to clients making websites more affordable.
Unfortunately, whilst these standards have greatly improved the creation of websites, standards in HTML emails have been long forgotten meaning bloated code, time and costs for all involved. The Email Standards Project is trying to change this.
